So, I ended up visiting a lady in my locality who loves gardening, and I ussually buy from her about once a year. She’s converted her entire backyard into a large maze of plants. But that’s not the point. The point is, 20 minutes into my transaction/conversation/tour on gardening, she tapped her nose and told me about a little known nursery that sells plants for $5.
“Pffft” , I said, I can get $5 plants from Home Depot in October. Well the short version of that long conversation was that she pointed me to a local nursery in Ontario that sells MANY plants of a multitude variety for $5 each. We’re talking Japanese Maples and Hydrangea’s for $5.
It’s in Hamilton, which is a 60 minute ride for me. But I made the trip, and damn, I spent a considerable
amount of money there. All I can say is, if you live in the area, you MUST make a trip out and visit the good folks at Northland Nursery.
I think they grow plants for large distributors like “Proven Winner” and the like. The only drawback is that these plants are typically 2 years old. But for someone like me, who needs to cover his entire yard in plants, it’s worth it. The best part is, they love Daylillies as much as I do. They have at least 25 varieties that I have not seen before. I had a blast.
sounds to good to be true very cheap
